1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Balgone website and the purchase or booking of any product, ticket, service, event, or experience offered by Balgone Estate, HERD, Balgone Store, or associated brands.
By accessing our website or making a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree, you must not use our website or services.

2. Definitions

  • “We”, “Us”, and “Our” refer to Balgone Estate and its associated operations.

  • “You” and “Your” refer to the customer, visitor, or participant.

  • “Event” refers to any paid or free experience, class, ticketed activity, or private hire taking place at Balgone.

  • “Booking” refers to any confirmed purchase of a ticket, event, hire, product, or service.

3. Booking and Payments

3.1 Booking Confirmation

A booking is confirmed only once payment has been received and a confirmation email issued. The confirmation email acts as proof of purchase and must be presented on arrival where required.

3.2 Payment

All payments must be made using the methods listed at checkout.
We do not store payment card information. All transactions are processed securely by third party payment providers.

3.3 Pricing

Prices are listed in GBP and include VAT where applicable.
We reserve the right to update prices at any time.
Once a booking is confirmed, the price will not change for that booking.

3.4 Group or Private Hire Bookings

For private events, weddings, group bookings, or corporate hires:

  • A deposit may be required to secure a date.

  • Balances must be paid by the deadline stated in the invoice or booking emails.

  • Failure to pay may result in cancellation of the booking.

4. Cancellations and Refunds

4.1 Customer Cancellations

Refund eligibility depends on the type of booking:

  • Standard ticketed events: Refunds are available up to 48 hours before the event unless otherwise stated.

  • Private hire or catered events: Deposits are non refundable. Balances may be refundable up to 14 days before the event unless otherwise agreed.

  • Classes or experiences delivered by external instructors: Refunds follow the cancellation policy set for that specific event, which will be stated at booking.

4.2 Non Attendance

Failure to attend an event does not qualify for a refund.

4.3 Event Cancellation by Balgone

We may cancel or reschedule events for operational, safety, or weather related reasons.
You will be offered:

  • A transfer to another date, or

  • A full refund of the ticket price.

We do not cover additional costs such as travel or accommodation.

5. Weather Conditions

Many of our activities take place outdoors, including pumpkin patch events, sunflower trails, walks, and seasonal experiences.

Events proceed in most weather conditions.
Severe weather may require closure for safety. In such cases, Section 4.3 applies.

6. Food, Allergies, and Catering

Our catering team takes care to minimise cross contamination, but we cannot guarantee that any menu item is completely allergen free.

It is your responsibility to inform us of allergies or dietary requirements at least 72 hours before your event.

7. Safety and Conduct

7.1 Farm Environment

Balgone is a working farm. Visitors must follow all safety signs and staff instructions.
Children must be supervised at all times.

7.2 Prohibited Conduct

We reserve the right to remove any person whose behaviour:

  • Is unsafe

  • Causes disruption

  • Poses a risk to animals, staff, or other visitors

  • Violates licensing conditions

No refund will be provided in these circumstances.

8. Animals and Biosecurity

Visitors must not touch livestock unless an event specifically allows it.
Dogs are permitted only in designated areas and must be kept on a lead.
Biosecurity measures such as foot dips or restricted access may apply.

9. Liability

9.1 General

We are not liable for:

  • Personal injury caused by misuse of facilities

  • Loss or damage to personal belongings

  • Travel or accommodation expenses in case of cancellation

  • Indirect or consequential losses

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence.

9.2 Activities

Participation in farm activities, trails, cooking classes, or outdoor events is at your own risk.
Some activities may involve uneven ground, mud, open fires, livestock, equipment, or natural hazards.

10. Intellectual Property

All website content, images, branding, designs, and materials are owned by Balgone.
You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without written permission.

11. Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers are valid for the period stated at purchase.
They are non refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Lost vouchers cannot be replaced unless proof of purchase is provided.

12. Event Photography and Media

Events at Balgone may be photographed or filmed for promotional use.
If you prefer not to be photographed, please inform a member of staff on arrival.

13. Personal Data

Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
By making a booking, you consent to the processing of your data as described in that policy.

14. Third Party Instructors and Partners

Some events involve external instructors or partners including chefs, fitness instructors, entertainers, or suppliers.
These partners operate under Balgone standards and may have their own policies or requirements.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time.
The version published on our website at the time of booking will apply to your booking.
